Bothan A' Bhile

Bothan A' Bhile is on the farm here in Glen Roy, near Roybridge. It's a detached lodge. You look out over the fields towards the hills. It's a working farm, so you'll see the sheep and maybe tractors going past sometimes.

It sleeps three. Two bedrooms and a bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and clean. Everything you need is there. The entrance and the shower are set up for wheelchair access, and there are grab rails in the bathroom.

You're right in the middle of Glen Roy itself. The Parallel Roads are just up the track. They're these lines on the hillsides from an ancient lake. Good for a short walk to see them.

Roybridge village is about two miles away. There's a shop and a couple of pubs there. Fort William is about fifteen minutes south. That's where you'll find the big supermarkets and shops. The Jacobite steam train goes from there to Mallaig.

You can get to a lot of places in under an hour from here. Glenfinnan and its viaduct. The Ardnamurchan peninsula. You can be at the foot of Ben Nevis in twenty minutes. A day trip to Skye or Oban is doable if you set off early.

For facilities: there's parking right outside. Wifi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair. The garden is enclosed. No pets, sorry, because of the farm animals.

If you're planning trips, the Cairngorms National Park website and the Visit Scotland outdoors page are useful.
