North Bank House is on the main street in Lybster. It's a detached house, quite a big one, built in 1883. It was the bank for a long time, then a church manse. We've done it up.
It sleeps nine, in four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms, which helps with a group that size. It's got a 5 Star rating, so it's well-equipped and comfortable.
You come in through a vestibule for coats and boots. The hall sets the tone. There's a living room with a TV and automatic blinds. Then there's a very large room that used to be the banking hall. It's a games room now, with a full-size snooker table, a smaller pool table, and some gym equipment like a treadmill and a bike. That room has its own door to the outside.
Upstairs, the landing gets a lot of light. There are four bedrooms, a reading room, and a family shower room. The wallpaper is quite something.
Outside, there's an enclosed garden and parking on site.
Lybster itself is a small village on the east coast. There's a local pub. The coastline is right there for walks. You're just off the North Coast 500 route. Wick is about 15 minutes south by car, Thurso about 25 minutes north. John O'Groats is roughly half an hour.
The ferry to Orkney from Gills Bay is about 20 minutes drive away. It's a quick crossing. For golf, there's a 9-hole course in the village, and other courses like Reay and Wick are within a 30 minute drive.
Facilities: all the bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, a cot and highchair if you need them. No pets, sorry.
