Cor An Easan

Cor An Easan is a cottage in Melness, up in the far north of Scotland. It's detached and set by itself, down a short track from the road. The view from the front is just sea and sky. There's a good sandy beach about half a mile away you can walk to.

It sleeps six, but in two bedrooms. So there's a double and then a room with four single beds in it. One bathroom. It's a 3 Star place, which is right. It's clean and comfortable, but it's an old croft house so it's simple. The walls are thick. It feels solid.

You've got a wood burning stove for heat and atmosphere. There's a washing machine, WiFi, and parking right outside. The garden is enclosed, which is handy if you're bringing dogs. Speaking of which, you can bring up to three pets. We provide bedding and towels.

There's a pub that does food about half a mile away in the village. A shop about a mile. The proper village is Tongue, a few miles drive. They've got a shop, a petrol station, and a hotel.

If you like fishing, it's a good spot for it, both sea and loch. You can hire boats locally. There's horse riding available down at Torrisdale Sands as well.

You're right in the middle of some serious landscape. Ben Hope and Ben Loyal are the big hills you can see. For walking, you can just head out from the door. To see more, the North Coast 500 road is on your doorstep. Thurso is about an hour's drive for bigger supermarkets. Cape Wrath is a trip you can make from here, you get the ferry from Keoldale.
