The Potting Shed is near Godmanchester, just outside Huntingdon. It used to be a barn in the grounds of a big old house called Island Hall, so it feels a bit tucked away.
It’s a 5 Star place, so it’s done up nicely. Everything is on one floor. It's a proper bolthole for two people. You get one bedroom and one shower room. The whole living space is open plan. There's a wood burner, which is good in winter. The patio doors open onto your own bit of patio. The bedroom has French doors that open to a shared courtyard.
It's a quiet spot. You look out over the river meadows. There's a huge area of water meadows and nature reserves right out the back. Good for a walk with the dog. We allow one dog.
You’re not totally cut off. There's a shop and pubs about a ten minute walk away in Godmanchester. The town's nice. Proper old coaching inns. Huntingdon train station is walkable too. From there you can get to Peterborough in 20 minutes or London in under an hour.
Cambridge is about half an hour's drive if you want the sights or the shopping. For a day out, Anglesey Abbey and Denny Abbey are both close by.
In terms of stuff it has: there's parking, WiFi, a telly, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need it.
