The Legion

The Legion is in St Margaret's Hope on South Ronaldsay, Orkney. It's an old British Legion hall they've turned into a house. It looks right out over the harbour.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathroom, which is useful. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's a nice, bright place. Those front windows are huge, so you get a lot of light and a good view of the water.

The village is quiet. There's a local pub. The house is in a conservation area, so the buildings round about are old. Some are 17th century. The ferry from Gills Bay on the mainland comes in here.

You're about a 25 minute drive from Kirkwall, the main town. Stromness is about 40 minutes. The islands are linked by the Churchill Barriers, which are causeways built during the war. There are good beaches a short drive away.

Inside, it's open plan. There's a study if you need to work. It's got a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. There's a cot and highchair if you're bringing a baby. The entrance is wheelchair accessible.
