This is Bracken. It's a self-contained "pod", basically a small wooden cabin, over near Straiton in Ayrshire. It's for two people.
It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well put together. There's a bed on a mezzanine level upstairs that you climb a ladder to get to. You need to be okay with that. The living space and kitchenette are downstairs. There's a shower room.
Outside, there's a deck with a private wood-fired hot tub. You light the fire yourself to heat it up. There's a barbecue and a firepit too.
The pod sits on its own, looking out over fields. It's very quiet. There's no street lighting out here, so the night sky is clear if it's not cloudy. You can walk into Straiton village, which has a pub, a shop and a coffee shop.
You're right on the edge of the Galloway Forest Park. It's good for walking and cycling. The roads are quiet. There are deer about. Useful links for planning that: Forestry and Land Scotland - Galloway and Galloway and Southern Ayrshire Biosphere.
Within half an hour's drive you can get to the coast at Ayr or Troon. Culzean Castle is about 25 minutes away, it's a National Trust property and the grounds are good for a walk. National Trust for Scotland - Culzean.
The facilities are what you'd expect: bedding and towels are included, there's a TV and WiFi, and parking right next to the pod. You can bring up to two dogs.
