Bracken

This is Bracken. It's a pod in Straiton, Ayrshire. There are two pods here, but they're well spaced so you'll have your own bit of privacy.

It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's kitted out nicely. There's a kingsize bed up on the mezzanine floor. Downstairs is open plan: a living area, kitchen, and dining space. There's an electric wood burner for the evenings.

You get your own wood-fired hot tub outside. It's a bit of a process to heat up, but sitting in it with a clear sky is worth it. There's a barbecue and a firepit too. The views are across the fields.

The village of Straiton is a short walk. They've got a pub, a shop, and a coffee shop. It's a nice little place. You're right on the edge of the Galloway Forest Park, which is huge. It's great for walking. It's also a Dark Sky Park, so the stars are really clear.

For the coast, Ayr, Prestwick and Troon are about a half hour drive. They've got sandy beaches and you can see Arran across the water. If you want to go further, Glasgow or Stirling are about an hour and a quarter. Culzean Castle is worth a visit, and the Ayrshire Coastal Path is good for a long walk.

In terms of what's here: all bedding and towels are included. There's parking right next to the pod. You can bring one dog. The shower is a walk-in. There's WiFi and a TV.

If you're looking into the area, these sites are useful: Galloway Forest Park and for the coast, Ayrshire Coastal Path.
