Heather
This is Heather. It's one of two pods we have on a bit of land outside Straiton.
It sleeps two, up in a king-size bed on a mezzanine. Downstairs is open-plan, with a kitchen area, a table, and an electric wood-burner effect stove. There's a shower room with a walk-in shower.
Outside, you've got your own decking with a barbecue and a firepit. The main thing is the wood-fired hot tub. You fill it and light the burner yourself. It takes a few hours to heat up.
The pod is insulated and has underfloor heating, so it's warm. It's got a 5 Star rating, which I think reflects that it's well-equipped and new.
Straiton village is about a ten-minute walk. It's a conservation village with a pub, a shop, and a coffee shop. It's quiet.
You're on the edge of the Galloway Forest Park. It's a huge area for walking and wildlife. It's also a Dark Sky Park, so the stars are good on a clear night.
By car, you can be at the coast in Ayr or Troon in under half an hour. Culzean Castle is about a 25-minute drive. It's a National Trust for Scotland property with good grounds to walk in.
If you want to explore further, Glasgow and Edinburgh are about an hour and a half away. Loch Lomond is a bit over an hour.
Facilities are pretty much all covered. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right next to the pod. WiFi and TV are there. No pets.
The other pod is called Bracken. They're positioned so you don't overlook each other. You can book both together if you're a group of four.
