Ardlearag

Ardlearag is in Badcaul, by Little Loch Broom. It's a modern, timber-clad house built for the view, which is the main thing. You're right by the water, looking out over the loch to Beinn Ghobhlach and the Scoraig peninsula.

The house sleeps eight. There are four bedrooms and three bathrooms, so it works for a few couples or a family. It's got a 4 Star rating. The main living area is all open plan with big windows, so you get that view from the sofa. There's a woodburning stove for the evenings.

You come in through the back door. There's a utility room straight off the entryway which is useful for boots and wet coats. The stairs are open-tread, which is worth noting if you have small children.

The location is quiet. It's a proper remote Highland spot. The mountain An Teallach is a few miles east if you're a walker. For supplies or a meal out, Ullapool is about a 30 minute drive. From there you can get the ferry to Stornoway. The coast to the south, around Aultbea and Gairloch, has some good beaches and is within half an hour.

Facilities are all there: parking, washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to three dogs. There's a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them.
