Avon Lock Cottage is on the river just outside Tewkesbury town centre. It's an apartment, first floor, right over the lock so you can watch the narrowboats coming through.
It sleeps five. Three bedrooms, one bathroom. It was refurbished recently, so everything works and is clean. The stairs up to the apartment are internal but they're fairly steep, just so you know.
You're about a two minute walk from the main town. There's a shop close by and a pub about the same distance. The pub serves food. For a bigger supermarket, you'd drive.
The place is good for walking. You can follow the river path or walk into Tewkesbury itself. The abbey is worth a look. In July they have the big medieval festival, which is quite something if you don't mind the crowds.
If you want to be on the water yourself, Croft Farm Water Park is a short drive away. They do swimming, paddleboarding, that sort of thing. The café there allows dogs. Cheltenham is about ten miles away for the shops or the races.
You're on the edge of the Cotswolds. Chipping Campden, Broadway, those kinds of places are within half an hour's drive.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi included. Parking is on site. You can bring one well-behaved dog. We can provide a highchair if you need one.
