Low Barn is our place in Carlton. It's a barn conversion, so it's got beams, but it's not dark or poky. It's on our stud farm, so you're in the middle of fields with horses.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. One is on the ground floor. The stairs are a standard spiral staircase.
It's got underfloor heating, so it's warm. There's a wood burner as well but we find the heating does the job. You've got a garden area that gets sun all day, and parking right outside.
It's very quiet here. You can walk straight out from the door. There are three pubs within a mile or so. The White Hart in Carlton is the closest, about a ten minute walk.
Market Bosworth is under a mile away. It's a small market town with a decent Co-op, a butchers, and a few cafes. They have a market on Thursdays.
For a day out, Hicks Lodge is good for cycling or a gentle walk. It's run by the Forestry Commission. Calke Abbey is about half an hour's drive. That's a National Trust place, a big old house with gardens. The Conkers activity centre is also around 30 minutes away, if you've got children.
Facilities: It's got everything you'd expect – dishwasher, washing machine, good WiFi. The whole place is wheelchair accessible on the ground floor. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
