Eliza Cottage is on our family farm just outside Haddington. It’s detached, so it’s on its own. You’ll see Traprain Law from the front.
It sleeps five in three bedrooms. There’s one bathroom with a walk in shower. It’s got a 4 Star rating, which means it’s comfortable and everything works. You’ve got oil central heating.
The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. There’s a small patio area with a table. The garden is just grass, but it’s yours to use, and it’s pretty quiet.
Haddington is about a mile and a half away. It’s a proper town with supermarkets, pubs, and a few places to eat.
You’re on a working farm, so you’ll see tractors and sheep about. The roads around here are quiet, good for cycling if you bring bikes.
For getting into Edinburgh, the train from Drem station is reliable and takes about quarter of an hour. It’s easier than driving in.
East Lothian is mostly golf and beaches. There are a lot of courses nearby, if that’s your thing. The coast at places like Gullane or North Berwick is about 15 minutes in the car.
You can walk in the Lammermuir Hills. For history, there’s Dirleton Castle or Tantallon Castle looking out to sea.
