Sealladh Breagh is up a single-track road in Glenuachdarach, on the Isle of Skye. It's a detached house on its own bit of land. Sheep and cows will sometimes be in the field right next to the garden. The driveway is private and there's plenty of parking.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. The main bedroom is on the ground floor, with an en-suite shower room. The other two bedrooms and a family bathroom are down the hall. The stairs are fine.
The kitchen is at the back, a proper farmhouse style with a big table. The door leads out to a utility room and then the garden. The main living room is in the middle of the house. It has a wood burner and big windows looking out at the hills. Patio doors go out onto a deck. The deck faces west, so you get the evening sun looking out towards Macleod's Tables.
Upstairs is a big open space. There's a seating area for watching films and a games area with a pool table and table football.
You're at the end of the road here, right under the Trotternish Ridge. You can walk straight from the house up onto the ridge to join the Skye Trail. The owner lives on-site and can advise on local fishing spots.
You're about six miles from the main Portree to Uig road. Portree has shops, pubs, and restaurants, and it's about a 15-minute drive. Uig is a bit closer. The Fairy Glen is a few minutes' drive away. To see the big sights like the Quiraing or the Old Man of Storr, you drive over the ridge, which takes about half an hour.
