Ivy Cottage

Ivy Cottage is in Chedworth, Gloucestershire. It's a one-bedroom place, so it's just for two people. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's nicely done up and kept clean. It's detached, so you're on your own. There's parking right next to it.

The cottage is stone-built, old, with oak beams and a big inglenook fireplace. The living space is all open plan. There's a woodburning stove for the evenings. The stairs are the original ones, so they're steep and a bit narrow. Just something to be aware of.

You've got your own enclosed garden with a patio and a BBQ. Inside, there's a washing machine, a dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.

Chedworth itself is a long, quiet village in a valley. There are loads of footpaths starting right from the door. You might see alpacas in the fields nearby. The local pub is a short walk away. For shops, you'd drive about five miles.

Right on the edge of the village is Chedworth Roman Villa. It's a National Trust site and well worth a look. Cirencester, which was a big Roman town, is about a 15-minute drive. They've got a good museum and the remains of an amphitheatre.

You're right in the middle of the Cotswolds here. Towns like Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh, and Bourton-on-the-Water are all within a 20 to 30 minute drive. Cheltenham is about half an hour away if you want a bigger town or the races. For a full day out, Bath, Oxford, or Bristol are all within an hour's drive.

If you're planning walks or days out, the Cotswolds Official Site is useful, and so is the National Trust guide to the Cotswolds.
