Hillcroft Purleigh

Hillcroft is a first-floor apartment in a converted barn in Purleigh. It's detached from the main house. You get a separate entrance.

The main thing is the view. The windows and the little balcony look straight out over the fields. It's very quiet out here.

It's rated 3 Star. That means it's comfortable and clean. The furniture is all fairly modern. The kitchen has what you need for a week. It's open plan, so the living area and kitchen are all one room. There's one bedroom with a double bed and one bathroom. It sleeps two, just. There's a sofa bed if you really needed to squeeze an extra person in, but it's really for a couple.

You should know about the stairs. They're external metal stairs up to the front door. They're open and a bit steep. Fine if you're steady on your feet, but maybe not for everyone.

You can park right next to the barn. There's a bike store if you bring cycles. You're welcome to use our garden too, which is quite large. Our dog is friendly and will probably come and say hello.

In the village there's a shop half a mile away and a pub about a mile walk. It's a proper country pub. For more choice, Maldon is about a ten-minute drive. It's on the River Blackwater so there's a promenade and boat trips. Plenty of places to eat there.

If you like walking, you can just go straight out from the door. There are good paths. For a day out, RHS Garden Hyde Hall is close and worth a visit. The Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome is interesting if you like that sort of thing. There are a couple of golf courses within a few miles.

Facilities: WiFi, TV, washing machine, parking, bike storage. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a travel cot if needed. Sorry, no pets allowed.
