Tawny Owls is a bungalow on the edge of our stud farm, near Church Town in Surrey. It used to be a hen house but we converted it a few years ago. It's single-storey, so everything is on the ground floor. That makes it straightforward.
It sleeps four, in two bedrooms, and there's one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 3 Star rating, so it's clean and comfortable without being fancy.
You look out over woodland at the back. There's a small sitting area for each cottage. You can walk straight out from the door onto the footpath. There's a good walk through the fields and woods to a pub in Tandridge. It takes about half an hour.
Next door there's a garden centre with a restaurant and coffee shop. It's open during the day and some evenings. They sometimes have workshops.
Godstone village is about a mile away for shops and pubs. You can get a fast train to London from Oxted, which is two miles away. That takes about half an hour.
There are a lot of big houses and gardens to visit nearby. Chartwell, Polesden Lacey, and Nymans are all within about half an hour's drive. Hever Castle and Leeds Castle are a bit further.
For a day out, the south coast at Brighton is about 45 minutes by car. Chessington World of Adventures is also close by.
Facilities include a washing machine, TV, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs.
