The Stables is a holiday cottage on our farm, Berwick Hill, near Ponteland in Northumberland. It's one of three places we rent out here. This one is all on one floor, which is handy. It used to be a stable block, so it's a U-shaped layout. There are big rooms with limestone floors and open beams. The main living area has a double-sided wood burner, so you get the fire in two rooms.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom with a shower. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The place is detached and you get your own courtyard to sit out in.
You're on the edge of a working farm with 200 acres. You're welcome to walk around the estate tracks. It's quiet, with woods and fields.
Ponteland is the nearest proper town, about five minutes by car. There are shops and places to eat. A good farm shop is just down the road.
For days out, you're quite central. Newcastle is about 15 minutes drive if you want city things. The coast is east, about a 25 minute drive to beaches like those near Blyth. Northumberland's big attractions are within about 30 to 45 minutes: Hadrian's Wall, Gibside, and Alnwick Castle. The Northumberland Coast area with its castles goes on for miles further north.
In the cottage there's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. There's parking right outside. No pets, sorry.
