The Stables is on our farm at Berwick Hill, near Ponteland. It's a converted stable block from the 1700s, all on one level. You get the place to yourselves, it's detached.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms, with one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well looked after. The floors are limestone and there are open beams. It's a U-shape layout, so the living space is large and open. There's a double-sided wood burner that heats the main living area and one of the bedrooms.
You can walk around the farm's 200 acres, including some woodland. It's a working farm, so you'll see animals and tractors about. There's a private courtyard for sitting out.
The nearest shop is about a mile and a half away in Ponteland. The town has a few pubs and restaurants, about two miles. There's a good farm shop centre a couple of minutes' drive away.
You're well placed for getting out. Newcastle is 15 minutes by car. For coast, it's about 11 miles to the nearest beaches. Northumberland's coast has all the castles, like Bamburgh, and miles of sand.
Hadrian's Wall is within half an hour for walking. Alnwick Castle and gardens are about 45 minutes north. Holy Island is a bit further, but you can do it in a day trip.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, TV with satellite, and wifi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. There's parking right outside. No pets, sorry.
