The Bothy House is on Berwick Hill in Northumberland. It's a detached place, about 100 yards down a quiet track from the main farm buildings. It's on the edge of a working farm, so you'll see sheep and tractors. You've got your own acre of woodland around it.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. The main room has a high, atrium-style ceiling and full-length south-facing windows. You get good sunsets from there. There's no Wi-Fi at The Bothy. Just so you know.
The stairs to the bedrooms are a spiral staircase. It's not dangerous, but you need to watch your step.
The nearest village with shops is Ponteland, about a ten minute drive. There's a good farm shop a couple of minutes away by car. The nearest pub is about two and a half miles.
Newcastle city centre is about a 15 minute drive if you need shops or a night out. The coast is under half an hour away. You can be at Druridge Bay or Newbiggin-by-the-Sea quite quickly. For a longer day out, Alnwick Castle and its gardens are about 45 minutes north.
You're well placed for the main things here. Hadrian's Wall is a short drive inland. The Northumberland Coast and Northumberland National Park are both easily reached.
Facilities: there's a wood burning stove, a BBQ, and bike storage. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. Parking is right outside. Sorry, no pets.
