Pheasants Hill Old Byre

Pheasants Hill Old Byre is a one-bedroom place just for two people. It used to be a cow barn. It's next to our house, which is the main farmhouse.

It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well looked after.

The bed is a big carved oak one my grandfather made for his own wedding in 1902. All the pictures on the walls are by my father.

Everything is on one level, which is handy. The shower is a walk-in one. There's underfloor heating, a dishwasher, and a washing machine.

You can bring two dogs. The garden is about an acre and is fully fenced. You share it with us, but there's a table and chairs for you to use on your own bit. We don't use any chemicals on it, so it's got a lot of wildflowers and insects. There's a wildflower meadow.

We're on a quiet lane in the Hambleden Valley, in the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It's very peaceful.

There's a shop that does teas and a pub about half a mile away, down the lane. For a longer walk, you can get straight onto the footpaths.

Henley-on-Thames is about a 15-minute drive. Marlow is about 20 minutes. The National Trust's Hambleden estate is right on the doorstep.

We donate 15% of the earnings from the byre to local wildlife charities. The heating and hot water run on electricity from renewable sources.
