The beach is about three miles away. It’s a long sandy stretch, good for a walk. If you like golf, there are plenty of courses nearby.
Aberdeen itself has all the usual city things: shops, restaurants, museums. Old Aberdeen is worth a walk around. It’s got some interesting old buildings, like King's College.
If you want to explore, the coastal fishing villages north and south of the city are within about half an hour’s drive. The National Trust for Scotland has properties like Leith Hall and Haddo House nearby. For walks further out, the Cairngorms National Park is about an hour and a half away.
