Craig Lora

Craig Lora is in Stronmilchan, outside Dalmally in Argyll. It's a detached stone cottage from the 1800s. It's right next to the River Orchy, so you can hear the water from the garden.

The cottage sleeps four. There are two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and has what you need, but it's not a show home. It's an old building.

The garden is enclosed, so it's safe for dogs. You can have up to two pets. There's parking right there.

Inside, there's a woodburning stove, which is good for cooler evenings. There's also a washing machine, a dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair if you need them.

The village of Dalmally is about half a mile away. It has a shop, a pub, and a restaurant. There's a golf course there too.

If you're here to be outside, you're in the right spot. Salmon fishing is available on the river right by the house. Loch Awe is two miles away for trout fishing. The area is all about walking, climbing, and kayaking. In winter, you're about 40 minutes from the skiing at Glencoe or the Nevis Range.

You can drive to Oban in under half an hour. They call it the seafood capital, and the ferry port is there for trips to Mull and Iona. Kilchurn Castle is at the head of Loch Awe, and it's a great spot. For something different, you can tour the inside of Ben Cruachan at the Cruachan Power Station.
