Belloch Cottage

Belloch Cottage is near Glenbarr, on the Kintyre coast. It's a single storey cottage, detached. Just for one or two people. You get a view straight out to sea.

The main thing is the view. You're looking out over the water to the Isle of Gigha and you can see the Paps of Jura on a clear day. The sunsets are good.

It's got a 3 Star rating. That means it's clean and comfortable but not luxury. One bedroom, one bathroom with a shower. It's open plan inside, with a woodburning stove for cooler nights. There's parking right outside. The washing machine and all the bedding and towels are there.

You can bring two dogs. The garden is yours to use, and the coast path is right there. The beach is about a half mile walk. For birdwatching, the Machrihanish Bird Observatory is a short drive away at Gauldrons.

There's a shop about a mile away in Glenbarr. The nearest pub is two and a half miles. For a bigger shop or a meal out, Campbeltown is the town to go to. It's about seven miles. They've got supermarkets, shops, and a couple of whisky distilleries if that's your thing.

If you want to explore, the Isle of Gigha is a nice day trip by ferry. You can also get over to Islay and Jura from there. The National Trust for Scotland has information on Kintyre and the Visit Scotland site covers the peninsula.

It's quiet. You'll see a lot of wildlife. It's a good base if you want to walk or just look at the water.
