Upstairs are two further twin bedrooms, both prettily decorated and furnished. There is also a shower room on this floor. The kitchen/dining room on the ground floor is extremely well equipped, with plenty of space for up to six guests. Large country gardens surround the property. It is has been professionally fenced to keep out the friendly wild deer that roam the hills adjoining and which like to visit on a regular basis. A detached garage in the grounds can be used by visitors to store bikes, kayaks and outdoor equipment if required.
Lochinver is a charming fishing village, set around a natural harbour and bounded by spectacular hills and rock formations. It is a magnet for hill walkers, climbers, kayakers, mountain bikers and anyone who enjoys superb unspoilt countryside and coastlines. The village has a good selection of restaurants, as well as a pub, unusual small craft shops and cafés. There are two small supermarkets within a short walk. The stunning white-sand beach of Achmelvich is just 8 minutes’ drive away and there are numerous sandy and rocky bays along this beautiful and totally unspoilt coastline. The immediate area is a haven for wildlife. Deer are regularly seen close to the house and rare osprey, golden eagles, seals and otters are all spotted close by. There are superb walks and climbs direct from the house and the dramatic peaks of Suilven, Stac Pollaidh, Canisp, Quinag and Ben More Assynt dominate the skyline of this wild and unspoilt Highland region.
