Bank End Lodge is in Carlton, just over the border in North Yorkshire. It's a detached single-storey lodge, so everything's on the ground floor. You get the whole place and the garden to yourselves.
It sleeps six in three bedrooms and has two bathrooms, one of which is a wet room. It's a 4 Star property, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. We accept one well-behaved dog.
The location is quiet. There's a shop, a pub, and a restaurant about three quarters of a mile away in the village.
You can walk or cycle straight from the door onto local tracks. The nature reserves at Barlow Common and Skipwith are nearby if you like that sort of thing. York is about 20 miles away, which is an easy drive. You can use the Park and Ride at the designer outlet if you don't want to drive into the centre.
For a day out, Beverley and its minster are about 30 miles. Hull has The Deep aquarium. The coast at Filey, Scarborough, or Whitby is within reach for a day trip. Harrogate, Leeds, and the Royal Armouries are all under an hour's drive.
Facilities include parking, Wi-Fi, a TV, and bike storage. Bedding and towels are provided. The layout is open plan.
