Wardens Cottage

Wardens Cottage is in Bridge of Gaur, near Rannoch. It’s on the Croiscrag House Estate. It’s a quiet spot.

It’s a 4 Star place, so it’s in good nick. It sleeps four. Two bedrooms upstairs. There’s a family bathroom with a separate shower downstairs.

The two bedrooms upstairs share a shower room that you access from both rooms. It’s a sort of pass-through. You need to be comfortable with that to get between them. The master has a king bed. The other has a zip-and-link bed, so it can be a super king or two twins.

Downstairs is open plan. There’s a kitchen at one end, then a dining area, then a living area with a wood burner. It works. There’s a TV and WiFi.

You’ve got your own bit of garden and a patio. There’s parking right there. We’ve put in an electric vehicle charger. No pets, sorry.

The cottage backs onto fields. A five minute walk gets you to the shore of Loch Rannoch. You can look at the water from the upstairs windows.

The big thing here is walking. There are good routes from the door. You can walk up into the hills or along the lochside. Rannoch Moor is just there. You can drive down to Pitlochry in about half an hour. That’s where Pitlochry Festival Theatre is, and Blair Athol Distillery. Castle Menzies is about a twenty minute drive.

It’s simple. If you want a quiet base for walking or just getting away from things, it does the job.
