Cutters Cottage Roydon

Cutters Cottage is in Roydon, Essex. It's a 16th century timber-framed house, so you get the low beams and the wonky floors. It sleeps six across four bedrooms. There's a main bathroom and a separate shower room upstairs, plus a bath.

The living room has a wood burner. It works well. The kitchen has what you need. The garden gets the sun in the afternoon, there's a patio and a barbecue.

You can bring one dog. We ask that they stay off the furniture and you clean up after them in the garden.

The village has a station at the bottom of the high street. Trains go to London Liverpool Street in about half an hour, or to Cambridge in the other direction. There's a marina nearby with a café and a pub. The River Stort runs past it, so you can walk along the towpath.

For days out, RSPB Rye Meads is close by for birdwatching. The Lee Valley Park has fishing and you can hire boats. Paradise Wildlife Park is in Broxbourne. If you're driving, you can be at the Epping Forest visitor centre in under twenty minutes.

It's a 4 Star rated place. That means it's comfortable and well-kept. The stairs are steep because it's old. Towels and bedding are included. There's parking for two cars on the drive.
