Rowantree Cottage is a big place on the edge of Arrochar. It looks right out over Loch Long. We had it redone in 2023, so everything is new, but it's still just a stone cottage.
It sleeps ten people. There are five bedrooms and they've all got their own bathroom, which is handy with a full house. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable and well-equipped.
There's a patio and garden at the front to sit out on. Parking is right there for three cars, maybe four if you squeeze a bit.
In the village, it's about a five minute walk to the pub and a small shop. The pub does food. If you're after a bigger shop, there's a Co-op in Arrochar itself.
You're right at the foot of the Arrochar Alps here. Ben Arthur, the Cobbler, is the famous one. The path up starts from the car park down the road. For a less steep walk, you can follow the old military road along the lochside. Loch Lomond is about ten minutes drive. You can get boat trips from Tarbet or Luss.
Glasgow is about 45 minutes by car if you need a city day. The train from Arrochar station goes there too.
For facilities, it's all there: washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, a woodburning stove. Bedding and towels are included. We take one well-behaved dog.
