Enjoy a stroll along the promenade with its brightly coloured beach huts, ornamental gardens and cafés or build sandcastles on the wonderful, long sandy beach, where you can walk for miles. Close by lies a country park and an animal sanctuary, whilst nearby Flamborough Heritage Coastline is well worth a visit with its high chalk cliffs, packed with nesting sea birds including the comical puffins with their colourful beaks. RSPB Bempton Cliffs should also feature on your holiday itinerary.
The unspoilt rolling hills of The Yorkshire Wolds and The Cleveland Way coastal path offer miles of walking and cycling opportunities. The stately homes of Burton Agnes, Sledmere House and Gardens and Sewerby Hall are close by. You can also explore the coast by car, stopping off to spend a day at Bridlington or head further up the coast to Whitby. The ancient city of York is under an hour away.
