Lowesmuir Cottage is on our working farm in Craigens, about five miles inland from the coast. It's detached. The views from the front are over fields towards the sea and Arran.
It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's comfortable and well-equipped. There's a conservatory that leads out to an enclosed patio area with a built-in barbecue.
You're on a farm, so you'll see sheep and cattle in the fields. You can hear farm noises sometimes. The road past the cottage is quiet.
The seaside towns of Prestwick and Troon are about a twenty-minute drive. They have good sandy beaches. You can get ferries to Arran and Great Cumbrae from Ardrossan, which is about half an hour away by car.
Inland, Dumfries House is a short drive. It's an 18th-century estate with good grounds for walking. For a bigger day out, Galloway Forest Park is about thirty minutes away. It's a huge area for walking and wildlife. It's also a Dark Sky Park, if you're interested in stargazing.
Golf is all around here. Turnberry is the famous one, about forty minutes south. There are lots of other courses closer.
Facilities: you've got WiFi, a TV, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's bike storage and parking right at the cottage. The garden is enclosed. You can bring up to two dogs.
