This is Brookbank Farm, out past Goostrey on Blackden Heath. It's a big old Cheshire farmhouse, Grade II listed. It sleeps eighteen, which is a lot. Seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms, so everyone gets their own space. It's got a 4 Star rating, which I suppose means it's comfortable but it's not shiny and new, it's a proper old house.
It's on three floors, and because it's old there are low beams and the stairs are uneven in places. You have to watch your head. The doors are the original oak ones. The kitchen has an Aga, which is great for a big group. There's a wood burner in the living room fireplace.
Out the back there's an enclosed garden with a hot tub under a covered veranda. The front looks out over fields towards Jodrell Bank. You can walk to the observatory in about twenty minutes. There are four fishing lakes on the land, but they're shared with the angling club. We can sort day tickets if you want to fish.
You're right in the countryside here. There are walks straight from the door. The nearest pub is about a mile's walk, maybe fifteen minutes. Alderley Edge and Knutsford are about fifteen minutes by car for shops and more places to eat.
In the house you've got the basics: washing machine, dishwasher, towels and bedding, wifi, parking. There's a cot and highchair if needed. No pets, sorry.
