Kennet Valley View

Kennet Valley View is my bungalow in Calcot, Reading. It's on the edge of town, up a hill. The front garden and the conservatory look out over fields, so it feels quiet even though you're not far from things.

It's a detached bungalow, so all on one level. Two bedrooms, one bathroom, sleeps three. It has a 4 Star rating. There's a woodburner in the front room for cooler evenings. The back garden is enclosed, with a patio and a swing seat. It's private.

The stairs to get up to the property from the drive are quite steep, that's the main thing to know. There's parking for one car on the drive, and space to store bikes.

You can walk to a local pub that does food in about five minutes. There's a bus stop nearby too, with buses into Reading centre every ten minutes or so. Reading Station is about a fifteen minute drive. Trains to London Paddington take about 25 minutes.

For walks, Linnear Park and the Kennet and Avon Canal towpath are half a mile away. You can walk along the canal into Reading, or the other way towards Newbury, passing a few canal-side pubs. For a longer day out, Windsor is about 40 minutes by car. Linnear Park information.

Inside, there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and a TV. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, I'm afraid.
