Windy Roost Lodge is in Sutton St James, out in the Lincolnshire Fens. It's detached, so no neighbours attached to the walls. The main thing is the view. It's completely open, just fields as far as you can see. That's what you're paying for.
It sleeps six but there are only two bedrooms. One is double, the other has four single beds in it. There's one bathroom with a shower. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well kept.
The property is open plan downstairs. Patio doors open onto a seating area with a barbecue. It faces west, so you get the sunset. It's very quiet. You'll hear birds and the wind, not much else.
There's a local pub about a mile away. For shops, you need to drive. The nearest supermarket is about eight miles, in Long Sutton or Wisbech. Both towns are a 20 minute drive and have the basics.
If you want to play golf, Tydd St Giles Golf Club is five minutes down the road. You can get a day pass. The Norfolk coast is about an hour's drive. Holkham and Brancaster are good for beaches and walks. Sandringham is in that direction too, when it's open.
For a bigger day out, King's Lynn is 25 miles and has a historic port area. Peterborough is about the same distance, the other way, with a cathedral and shopping. Ely and Norwich are further, but doable if you don't mind driving.
Facilities: there's parking right outside. WiFi and TV are included. Bedding and towels are provided. One well-behaved dog is allowed. The garden is enclosed but it's not massive, so keep that in mind if you have a big dog.
Useful links: Visit Norfolk for the coast and RSPB reserves if you're into birdwatching.
