Seaview is on the main street in Barvas. It's a detached house, so no neighbours through the walls. You get the garden out the back, which looks over the croft land.
It sleeps seven in four bedrooms. Two are doubles downstairs, and upstairs there's a twin and a single room. There's a bathroom upstairs and a shower room on the ground floor. It's a 4 Star, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The stairs are fine, just normal house stairs.
Barvas is quiet. There's a service station with a shop for basics and a post office. The church here is where the big revival happened in 1949.
The coast is two miles away. For a good beach, you have plenty to choose from up and down the west coast. The Callanish Stones are about a 25-minute drive south. The standing stone at Clach An Trushal is just up the road. For history, the Blackhouse at Arnol shows you how people lived here not that long ago.
Stornoway is roughly a 20-minute drive east. That's where you'll find most of the shops, the museum, and places to eat. If you go north, you can drive up to the Butt of Lewis lighthouse. The scenery up there is dramatic.
The house has a wood burner in the living room, which is good for cooler evenings. There's a dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. We've got a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them. No pets, sorry.
