The Hawthorns is a detached house in Ottringham. It's a dormer bungalow, so most of it is on one level. You drive up to it through a gated entrance.
It's got a 5 Star rating. That means it's well-equipped and everything is in good order. I keep it clean.
It sleeps six people in three bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms are upstairs, one is on the ground floor. That ground floor bedroom has its own ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower and a bath. There's a second family bathroom upstairs.
The main living space is open. The kitchen has an island and leads straight into a sunroom with sofas and a dining table. That sunroom opens onto a big decked patio with garden furniture. The living room is separate, off the hall.
The garden is quite large and private. The hot tub is in an open-fronted summerhouse at the bottom of the garden. There's some covered seating there too. There's another bit of decking at the back of the house that gets the morning sun.
In the village, there's a pub that does food, an Indian takeaway, a post office that's also a small shop, and a children's playground with a zip wire.
Withernsea is about a 15-minute drive. That's the nearest proper beach. Hornsea and Bridlington are a bit further but easy to get to.
If you like birdwatching, Spurn Point is a unique spot. Spurn Point Nature Reserve is run by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust. Hornsea Mere is good for that too.
Burton Constable and Burton Agnes Hall are two big stately homes nearby. Beverley is a nice market town with a famous minster and a racecourse.
Hull is about 25 minutes away. The Deep aquarium is there. The Humber Bridge is worth seeing. York is about an hour's drive for a full day out.
Facilities: everything's included. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, bedding and towels. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Plenty of parking on the drive. It's all on one level from the driveway to the main living areas and one bedroom, so it works if someone has mobility issues. No pets.
