Druids Knowe is a house in Tarfside, which is a small place at the top of Glen Esk. It's detached and has a garden at the front and back. The views are really good.
It sleeps six people. Three double bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been done up recently so things like the kitchen and bathrooms are new, but it's still an old house so the ceilings are normal height and the layout is what it is.
It's very quiet here. The road past the house doesn't go anywhere much, so there's not much traffic. You get a lot of birds and that sort of thing.
The house has a wood burner in the living room. There's a dishwasher and a washing machine. WiFi is included, but the signal can be patchy because of where we are. It's okay for emails but not for streaming films. There's parking for a couple of cars on the drive.
You can bring up to two dogs. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
For walks, you step out the door and you're in it. The Glen Esk path is right there. If you want to climb a hill, Mount Keen is a few miles west. It's the most easterly Munro. Just along from the house is the Glenesk Retreat and Folk Museum, which has a shop and a cafe.
If you drive down the glen, you go through Fettercairn. It has a distillery. Further on, you can get to places like Balmoral Castle or the coast at Montrose or St Cyrus, all within about half an hour.
