Laxdale Cottage An t Ob

Laxdale Cottage is in Leverburgh. That's the most southerly village on Harris. It's a bungalow. Detached. You can see the water from the front.

It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's comfortable, not luxurious. Everything is on one level, which is useful. The rooms are bigger than you might expect for a cottage this size. The living room has a wood burner, a leather sofa, and two chairs. The kitchen is decent. You can cook a proper meal there.

The shower is a walk-in one. It's off the dining area. The bedroom has a double bed and gets a lot of light.

There's a local shop about five minutes' drive away. It sells fuel too. A pub that does food is a couple of minutes walk from the cottage.

The famous beaches are close. Scarista is a few minutes away. Luskentyre is about twenty minutes by car. The sand is white, the water is clear. It's very dramatic. Please be careful on the beaches though. Some have strong currents.

You can get a boat from the pier nearby to go over to North Uist or, for a longer trip, out to St Kilda if you book it. Lewis is joined to Harris, so you can drive up to see the Callanish Stones or the Blackhouse Village at Arnol.

Facilities: washing machine, TV, WiFi, bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. No pets.
