Mossdale Cottage
Mossdale Cottage is in Bellsbank, which is on the edge of the Galloway Forest Park. It's detached, so no neighbours on the other side of the wall. You get the garden to yourselves, and it's enclosed.
The cottage sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-finished and comfortable. There's a wood burning stove in the main room for chilly evenings.
The main thing here is the view and the dark skies. You're in a Dark Sky Park, so on a clear night you can see an incredible amount of stars from the garden. There's a private hot tub out there too.
You're right on the doorstep for walking in the Galloway Forest. It's a huge area of forest, lochs and hills. Good for seeing red deer. The Ayrshire Coastal Path is about a 30-minute drive away if you fancy a change from the forests.
If you want to see a proper castle, Culzean Castle is about 45 minutes away. It's on the cliffs. Robert Burns country is all around here; Alloway, where he was born, is about 40 minutes by car.
The nearest bigger towns are probably Ayr or Dumfries, both within about 40 minutes. For a day trip, you can get a ferry over to Arran from Ardrossan.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
