The Kylesku Kabin

The Kylesku Kabin is in Unapool, in the very far north of Scotland. It's a small, modern cabin type building. It's detached, but there is a wooden lodge next door on the same bit of land. They share a gate, but the Kabin's garden is fenced and private.

It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bedroom has a kingsize bed and an en-suite with a bath and a separate shower. That shower is also a steam cabin. The other room has two single beds that can be joined together. It's got a 5 Star rating, so it's well put together.

The main living area is all open plan with big windows. The view is the main thing, really. It looks straight out over Loch Glendhu and the hills beyond. There's a wood burner for chilly evenings.

You're right on the NC500 route here. It's very remote feeling, but Ullapool is about 40 minutes south for bigger shops. Lochinver is 20 minutes away. Durness is 45 minutes north.

It's a good spot for walking. Trailheads for Quinag, Canisp, and Suilven are a short drive. Ben More Assynt is nearby too if you're after a Munro.

A real plus is that the Kylesku Hotel and restaurant is a short walk down the road. That's unusual up here, to have good food and drink right on your doorstep.

The garden is fully fenced with deer fencing. There's an outdoor tap with hot and cold water, which is handy for cleaning dogs. Speaking of which, we take up to three pets.

The property was designed to be accessible. There's no step into the building and the doorways are wide.
