Smithy Lodge is in Prestwich, on the edge of Heaton Park. It was the old gatehouse for the park and it's from about 1806. It's got eight sides, which makes it a bit unusual looking.
It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. It's got a 3 Star rating. The stairs are steep and there aren't any handrails. The lighting's mostly from lamps because of the listing rules. It's fine if you're careful.
The best thing is the park. It's right there. Heaton Park is massive. There's a boating lake, a farm, a golf course, and cafes. They sometimes have big concerts there. You can get to it straight from the garden.
Prestwich village is a short walk away for shops and places to eat. There's a tram stop at the other side of the park if you want to go into Manchester city centre, which is about three and a half miles. It's handy for Salford Quays and Old Trafford too.
The place is detached and you get your own parking. There's an electric vehicle charger. Bedding and towels are included. No pets.
If you're planning a trip, the Visit Manchester site is useful, and you can look up details for English Heritage and National Trust places nearby if you want to explore further out.
