Skene House Court is an apartment in a old castle at Lyne of Skene, out in the Aberdeenshire countryside. It’s a big place, sleeps six. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It’s got a 5 Star rating, which means it's very well finished and comfortable.
The main thing is you’re staying in a castle. There are turrets and tall windows. But inside it’s all modern, with underfloor heating and a wood burner. There’s a separate room with a TV if people want to do different things. The stairs are the original castle stairs, so they wind round a bit.
You have your own private grounds around the apartment. It’s quiet and the views are over fields. There’s plenty of parking.
There’s a pub that does food about two miles away. The proper shops are in Westhill, which is about five miles.
Aberdeen is half an hour by car if you want a city day. For walking, you’re on the edge of Royal Deeside. The coast is about forty minutes away. This part of Scotland has a lot of castles, if that’s your interest. There are distilleries around Speyside, which is an hour or so west.
It’s got everything you’d need: towels and bedding, washing machine, dishwasher, good wifi. No pets allowed.
