Auld Kirk Hall is up in Woodhead, Aberdeenshire. It's a converted village hall, detached, so you're not sharing any walls. It sleeps eight, but in three bedrooms. Two of them are upstairs as big suites with their own bathrooms, and one is on the ground floor near another bathroom.
The main thing is the living space. It's all open plan with this big vaulted ceiling, so it feels very spacious. There's a kitchen island, a dining area, and then the sitting area with a wood burner. French doors go out to a private patio and the garden, which is enclosed.
A thing to note about the stairs: they're a proper dog leg staircase, handcrafted, but they are quite steep. Just so you know.
It's got a 5 Star rating, so it's well-equipped. All the bedding and towels are there. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, cot, highchair, and parking. It's wheelchair accessible too, on the ground floor at least. You can bring up to two dogs.
The location is quiet. The nearest pub and restaurant is about four miles off in Gardenstown. A shop is about eight miles. You'll want a car.
If you like golf, there are courses at places like Royal Tarlair and Duff House. The coast is good for walks, with little bays and beaches. You can sometimes spot dolphins in the Moray Firth. The Macduff Distillery is less than two miles away if that's your thing.
