Cowslip Ranby

Cowslip is one of a pair of semi-detached cottages on a family farm just outside Ranby, near Retford. They used to be farm buildings. They've been done up, so they're comfortable and warm. It's a working farm, so you'll see and hear tractors and livestock from time to time.

It sleeps four, in two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have their own bathrooms, which is handy. The stairs are steep, typical for a converted building.

Inside, there's a wood burner, which is nice on a cold evening. There's a private hot tub in a barn enclosure next to the cottage. That's out of the wind.

Outside, you have your own garden area with a patio. It's not huge, but it's yours. There's parking right outside.

The village is quiet. The nearest shop and pub are about two miles away in Retford. Retford is a market town with the usual supermarkets and high street shops.

If you're out walking, the Chesterfield Canal towpath is close by and flat. You're also near the Idle Valley Nature Reserve. The A1 is just a couple of minutes away, so it's easy to get to places.

Sherwood Forest and the Major Oak are about 25 minutes' drive. Clumber Park is a similar distance. They're good for a long walk. Creswell Crags, which has those ice age caves, is about half an hour away. For a day out with children, Sundown Adventureland is 15 minutes up the road. The Yorkshire Wildlife Park is about 40 minutes away.

Facilities wise: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. It's all on one level from the parking space to the front door, so it's accessible if you have mobility issues. No pets.
