This 1870s country house is at the head of a sweeping tree-lined carriage drive between Derby and Melbourne, and overlooks 3 acres of garden. It can accommodate the largest family party, with its living rooms, gilded cornices and fine chimney pieces, and children’s toys and games facilities. There is stabling on request. Historic Swarkestone Bridge and Trents water-sports area, an historic canal and local pubs are an easy walk. Calke Abbey and Derby with its theatres, clubs, restaurants and shopping, under 15 minutes drive. Ashbourne and Dovedale are 14 miles, Matlock Bath, 20 miles, Alton Towers, 22 miles and American Adventure, 12 miles. Shops 2 miles, pub ¾ mile.
