Sauchenshaw Cottage
Sauchenshaw Cottage is in Netherley, which is inland from Stonehaven. It's a detached cottage in the grounds of our house, but you have your own garden and it's private.
It sleeps seven. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean, not modern minimalist. There's a wood burning stove in the living room for the evenings.
The garden is quite large and established. You get the sun in the afternoon. It's quiet here, you're just looking at fields.
Stonehaven is about four miles away. That's where you'll find shops, places to eat, and the harbour. The heated outdoor pool is open in summer. Dunnottar Castle is just south of the town. It's a proper cliff-top ruin, very dramatic. The Dunnottar Castle website has visiting information.
Aberdeen is about a 20 minute drive. All the city things are there, if you need them.
Inland, you've got Royal Deeside. It's good for driving through or walking. Balmoral is about an hour's drive. If you're interested in whisky, there are several distilleries within a 30 minute drive, like Glen Garioch near Inverurie.
Facilities: there's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking for two cars. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a highchair. No pets, sorry.
