Boatman's Cottage At Invernian Mor

Boatman's Cottage is in Inverinan, on Loch Awe. It's detached, in woodland about halfway down the loch. The view from the front is straight over the water to the mountains.

It sleeps three. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It’s a proper cottage with thick walls, but it’s been renovated. It’s warm and dry, with double glazing. The rating is 4 Star. The living room is mostly glass at the front, with doors out to a terrace.

Each bedroom has an en-suite. The main one has a double bath and a walk-in shower. The other is a single room.

You're on part of a 37-acre estate. There's a path through the woods down to the lochside, with an old pier. You have fishing rights along about 400 metres of shore. There's a slipway if you bring a boat or paddleboard. There’s also a small loch on the estate with wild trout.

The nearest place is Dalavich village. They have a community centre with a bar and restaurant, a small shop, a café and a takeaway. You can hire bikes and canoes there.

It’s a quiet area. You might see red squirrels, pine martens, or ospreys. Deer are common. Loch Awe is long, with islands and old castles to explore by boat.

Within about half an hour’s drive you have Kilchrenan, Ford, Kilmelford and Taynuilt. They all have a shop and a pub. Taynuilt is the biggest, with a butcher, post office, and a golf course. Oban is about 50 minutes away for supermarkets, more shops, and the ferry terminal.

The facilities: parking at the cottage, a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if needed. There’s a BBQ and bike storage. No pets.
