Boatman's Cottage is in Inverinan, on Loch Awe. It's a detached little place, tucked in the woods on a big estate.
It sleeps three. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It has a 4 Star rating. It's been done up well, so it's warm and comfortable, but it's still a cottage. The walls are two feet thick in places.
The living room is almost all glass at the front, looking straight down the loch. You can walk straight out onto a little terrace. The main bedroom has the same view. Its bathroom has a walk-in shower and one of those big double bathtubs. The second bedroom is a single.
The estate grounds are about 37 acres. There's a small lochan with wild trout. A track goes down through the woods to the shore of Loch Awe itself. There's an old stone pier there, good for a swim. You have fishing rights along about 400 metres of the shore, and there's a slipway if you want to bring or hire a boat.
Dalavich village is nearby. It's got a community-run bar and restaurant, a small shop, a cafe, and a post office. You can hire bikes and canoes there.
The area is very quiet. You'll see red squirrels and deer. If you're lucky, you might spot an osprey or an eagle. The loch is long, with islands and old castles to explore.
Within about half an hour's drive on the single-track roads, you can get to Kilchrenan, Ford, Kilmelford, and Taynuilt. They all have a shop and a pub. Taynuilt has a bit more: a butcher, a golf course, and a train station. Oban is about 50 minutes away for bigger supermarkets, the ferry terminal, and more restaurants.
For facilities: there's parking, a washing machine, a dishwasher, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's a garden with a BBQ. No pets, sorry.
