This is Taigh Violet Rose. It's in Uachdar on Benbecula. That's in the middle of the Outer Hebrides, between North and South Uist.
It's a renovated blackhouse, so it's an old stone cottage with a thatched roof now. It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom, all on the ground floor. The living area is open plan. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable, not huge.
The garden goes around the cottage. You can see the sea from it. The front door is wheelchair accessible and there's a step-free path to the parking.
Being in the middle of the islands means you can get about. The beaches here are white sand. The water looks tropical when the sun's out. On a clear winter night, you might see the Northern Lights.
You can drive to North Uist and South Uist over the causeways. To get to Harris, you take the ferry from Berneray, which is about a 40 minute drive north. The ferry to Barra goes from Eriskay, about a 25 minute drive south. You should book your vehicle on the ferries well in advance.
You can fly to Benbecula airport from Glasgow. It's two miles from the cottage.
It has a washing machine and dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. WiFi works. You can bring up to two dogs.
