Set in a peaceful location this is an ideal choice for guests who want to escape to the country by the sea. With a large, enclosed garden to the front of the property and fields filled with neighbouring sheep behind you, here you have your own little piece of the Yorkshire countryside, away from the rest of the world.
The spacious layout of the property is designed with your comfort and enjoyment in mind, bathed in light from large skylights as well as the glass doors opening out onto the raised decking which looks across the garden. Set all on one level, this property benefits from a ramp leading from the driveway across the lawn to the front door, and has ground floor facilities, suitable for guests with restricted mobility. The living area is open planned with a well-equipped kitchen, boasting an island with breakfast area. The dining table which is the ideal size for enjoying meals together is at the heart of the room. In front of the glass doors, you have the seating area, beside a wood burning stove. There are three bedrooms each with its own TV, the master king bedroom with an en-suite shower room. Plus, two zip and link twin rooms which can be made up as super kings on request, one with an en-suite shower room, the other is next to the family bathroom.
There is a selection of amenities available in the village centre which is ½ mile away from the property including a garage with a shop, post office, chemist, two food serving pubs as well as a renowned fish and chip takeaway. Nearby Scarborough is a popular and historic resort, offering two sandy bays, a long promenade, and the ruins of Scarborough Castle, perched high on the cliffs above. Stroll through the colourful ornamental gardens of Peasholm Park on the North Bay, or South Cliff Gardens above the historic Spa complex, visit the Rotunda Museum or have fun on the amusements. Culture lovers will be impressed by the renowned Stephen Joseph Theatre in the Round, which features excellent productions, or the large, open-air theatre which hosts many well-known bands. For children you have the Sea Life Centre, Alpamare Water Park, Playdale Farm Park, Dalby Forest Go Ape and Activity Centre, Castle Howard, Wykeham Lakes Fishing and Water Park, Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo, and Mini Monsters indoor soft play for wet days, all within a 30-minute drive.
East Ayton itself has several local footpaths and walks to explore right from the doorstep, taking in the Natural Nature Reserve of Forge Valley and Raincliffe Woods, with connecting walks through the fields of the local Ayton Castle. To the west of the property, you can find the picturesque village of Thornton-le-Dale and the market town of Pickering, which has the North York Moors Steam Railway taking visitors all the way to Whitby on the coast. Dalby Forest can also be found close to Pickering, with its cycle hire shops, visitor centre, cycling and walking trail routes, all within a 30-minute drive of the property. The surrounding countryside is well worth exploring, with its heather-clad moors, delightful coastal villages and a wonderful network of footpaths and trails to follow. This is a perfect base all year round to create holiday memories to treasure.
