Walnut Cottage Sproughton

This is Walnut Cottage in Sproughton. It's a semi-detached place, and I'm told it's the oldest cottage in the village. Goes back to the 14th century, apparently. It’s been in the family for ages. We've done it up to a decent standard.

It sleeps four, with two bedrooms and one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. There's a wood burner in the living room for cooler evenings.

The thing you need to know about are the stairs. They're the original cottage stairs. So they're a bit steep and narrow in places. Just watch your step.

Out the back there's a fully enclosed garden. It gets the sun. There's a table out there, and a BBQ. You get the garden to yourselves. Parking is right outside on the street.

The village shop is about 50 yards away. There's a pub and a restaurant within a mile.

Location-wise, you're well set. Ipswich is a short drive for the train station if you fancy a day in London. Constable Country is nearby. So is the Suffolk Heritage Coast, which is about half an hour in the car. For historic villages, you've got Lavenham, Long Melford, and Clare all within a 30-minute drive.

For the facilities, it's got the things you'd expect: WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
