Invernahyle Cottage

Invernahyle Cottage is near Duror in Argyll. It's a newish, detached house. The place is quite open inside, and the main view is from the front, over fields to Loch Linnhe. Being detached means it's quiet.

It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms, so it suits a group where everyone wants their own space. It's got a 4 Star rating. The furnishings are modern and comfortable. There's parking right next to the cottage.

The garden is fenced and private. It's got a patio area. The lawn is fine, but it's not landscaped.

The location is the main thing. You're not in a busy place, you're surrounded by countryside. Fort William is about 35 minutes north, and Oban is about 25 minutes south. You'll want to drive to them for a supermarket or a larger choice of places to eat. There's a decent pub about three miles away in Kentallen, and a beach you can walk to from the village, about a mile down the lane.

If you're into walking, you're well placed. Glen Coe is a 20 minute drive. Ben Nevis is about 40 minutes. It's also on the Caledonia Way cycle route. The local golf course, Dragon's Tooth, is five miles away and is interesting. For winter stuff, there's the Glencoe Mountain Resort for skiing or just the views.

Oban is useful for ferries if you fancied a day trip to Mull or one of the other islands.

In terms of what's here, it's got the basics covered. WiFi, a TV, a dishwasher and washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair if needed. No pets allowed, sorry.

If you're planning ahead, the National Trust for Scotland Glencoe page is good for context, and Walkhighlands is the best site for local walks.
