This is Muirtown Lodge. It's a detached wooden lodge we had built near the village of Crannach in Aberdeenshire. The big glass end faces south-west over the fields. It gets the sun in the evening.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms. One is an en-suite shower room off the main bedroom, which has a king-size bed. The other is a twin room. We put underfloor heating throughout and there's a wood burner in the living area. It was all done up in 2020, so the appliances are decent. It's warm.
You have your own bit of garden outside with furniture. There's a wood-fired hot tub there. You'll need to get that going yourself, it takes a few hours.
The location is quiet and rural. Cullen is about five miles away. That's a proper seaside town with a good beach and the famous viaduct. You can walk to the Bow Fiddle Rock from there. The shop is in Cullen too. The nearest pub is about four miles, in Portsoy. They do food.
If you're driving, you can get to a lot of the north-east coast easily. Portsoy is ten minutes away. Banff and Macduff are maybe fifteen. Aberdeen is about an hour's drive south. For walks, the Moray Coastal Trail is right there. For a day out, Fyvie Castle or Balmoral are within half an hour.
The place is wheelchair accessible at the entrance, with no steps. There's parking right beside the lodge.
You can bring two dogs. We include bedding and towels. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, wifi, and a cot and highchair if you need them.
