This is Irenic Lodge 2. It's in Hamble-le-Rice, down by the river. It's one of a pair of semi-detached bungalows, so you've got neighbours next door in Irenic Lodge. It’s all one level, which is good if steps are a problem.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's got a 4 Star rating. Everything's been recently done up, so it's in good nick. The living area is open plan with French doors out to the back. There's a small enclosed patio out there with a table and chairs under a pergola. It gets the sun.
The village centre is about a mile and a half away. It’s nice for a wander. There’s a proper old quay and a few pubs and cafes. There's a local pub about half a mile from the lodge. The history round here is mostly boats and planes.
It's good for getting places. Southampton is about twenty minutes in the car. Portsmouth is maybe forty minutes. You can get a ferry to the Isle of Wight from both. The beach at Hill Head is three miles away.
If you're planning days out, the New Forest is about half an hour's drive. So is the South Downs National Park. For something different, the historic docks at Portsmouth are worth a visit, or Winchester Cathedral.
Facilities: there's parking right outside. It has WiFi, a TV, a washing machine, and a dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. The place is wheelchair accessible, with grab rails in the bathroom and no steps at the entrance. You can bring up to two dogs.
